Sri Lanka National Cricket Team vs India National Cricket Team Match Report

India will likely be disappointed that they allowed an opportunity to slip away so easily. Axar Patel and Shivam Dube came within inches of victory before Charith Asalanka’s review spot-on dashed their hopes.

Pathum Nissanka fell as Mohammed Siraj delivered an exceptional delivery that sent Sri Lanka reeling. Dunith Wellalage and Kamindu Mendis attempted to stem the tide with small repairs of their own but were ultimately unsuccessful in doing so.

Sri Lanka vs India 1st ODI

After losing Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka prior to this series, Sri Lanka entered this match determined to prove themselves. Charith Asalanka’s side made history when they tied India in their inaugural ODI match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo despite an early collapse from 101/5 to set an attainable target of 231. Dunith Wellalage made his maiden half century, which combined with partnerships from Wanindu Hasaranga and Dananjaya helped Sri Lanka reach 231/8 with all their remaining batsmen.

Wellalage strikes again for Sri Lanka as Rohit Sharma becomes disgruntled again. Rohit attempts a slog sweep but misjudges his timing completely, landing himself plumb in front of stumps! The umpire raises his finger – and after reviewing, the decision stands!

Axar Patel and KL Rahul added quick runs before Sri Lankan spinners started wreaking havoc with Axar being caught at deep mid-wicket off Wellalage and Washington Sundar being bowled by Wellalage as his run rate began to diminish. Washington Sundar was bowled by Wellalage while Axar fell victim to Wellalage too – leading them downhill until they lost three wickets quickly to collapse to 208/6 at one stage before Asalanka played some brilliant cricket to force a tie and secure an historic comeback victory for her side.

Sri Lanka vs India 2nd ODI

Indian cricket captain Gautam Gambhir and India are hoping to rebound after suffering an embarrassing batting collapse in their opening ODI against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Rohit Sharma will lead his side from the front and open up alongside Shubman Gill at one end, before Mohammed Siraj takes charge with bowling his first over for India.

Live Score in Second ODI Sri Lanka defeated India by 32 runs at R Premadasa Stadium. Leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay made an impactful contribution, taking 6/33 as Sri Lanka reached their target of 208 in 42.2 overs with Kamindu Mendis (40 off 62 balls) and Avishka Fernando being Sri Lanka’s top scorers, while Axar Patel of India reached 44 off 49 balls for their total.

Charith Asalanka was another key contributor for Sri Lanka. Early on, their opponents struggled against both spinners due to conditions that provided both with grip and turn.

Vandersay proved too powerful for India. Playing in place of injured Hasaranga, Vandersay took no prisoners in going after Indian batsmen with unwavering discipline – dismantling both top and middle order to help his side make significant headway in the series aided by Dananjaya and Washington Sundar’s support in the process.

Sri Lanka vs India 3rd ODI

Sri Lanka are on the cusp of making history after winning their first bilateral One Day International series against India since 1997. Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka have shown remarkable resilience when faced with obstacles on their travels through India, demonstrating a never-say-die attitude and showing they won’t back down when facing opposition.

Sri Lanka has taken full advantage of the favorable conditions at Premadasa Stadium, with their spinners dominating Indian batters. Avishka Fernando and Dunith Wellalage standout among Sri Lanka’s batsmen as leaders of an effective side who have managed to neutralise India’s strong bowling attack with disciplined batsmanship.

After winning the toss, India elected to field. Their aim will be to prevent another innings collapse and level the series at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka. Their batsmen have struggled against Sri Lanka’s spin threat so Rohit Sharma’s excellent batting will be key in helping India pull level with Sri Lanka in this series. Sri Lanka vs India 4th ODI

India won their fourth One-Day International in Colombo by defeating Sri Lanka by 168 runs to seal victory. India won the toss and elected to bat first, making three changes in Kuldeep Yadav for Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur debuting for India for his debut, and Manish Pandey coming in place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar – all leading up to an emphatic win by their team mates.

Sri Lanka began poorly, with Charith Asalanka and Kamindu Mendis opening up for them before Avishka Fernando, Dunith Wellalage, and Mendis showing some hard work to lift their score and give Sri Lanka hope of success.

Mathews fell victim to a short ball and that put an end to any hope for Sri Lanka. With Mathews out, all hope of comeback had vanished for Sri Lanka.

Kuldeep Yadav to Lasith Malinga – Out!!

Loopy ball on off, turning back in. Malinga attempts a sweep but gets an inside edge and gets bowled by it instead, sending the ball towards India’s stumps to take control of this match.
